A Look into the Plays
Both “Laundry & Bourbon” and “Lone Star” have been a staple in the theatre world since their debut in 1979. They tackle themes of friendship, memories, and the complexities of life, all with a humorous twist. In “Laundry & Bourbon”, you’ll follow Elizabeth and her friends Hattie and Amy Lee as they indulge in some small-town gossip. They chat about the ups and downs of life, particularly the challenges faced by Elizabeth’s husband, Roy, who has returned from Vietnam.
On the flip side, “Lone Star” takes us behind the scenes at a local bar, where we meet Roy, his brother Ray, and their buddy Cletis. As they share drinks, they reminisce about Roy’s past military service, his wife, and of course, his beloved 1959 pink Ford Thunderbird. It’s a comedic yet touching exploration of friendship and the bonds that hold us together.
