Summerville – Big news for USC Aiken baseball fans! The talented Capers Molinaroli, a redshirt-senior third baseman, has just been named the Peach Belt Conference baseball Player of the Week. This recognition comes as no surprise, given his outstanding performance during the last week, leading his team to an impressive 4-1 record.
Diving right into the stats, Molinaroli made quite an impact at the plate, boasting a fantastic .421 batting average over the week. He racked up a total of eight hits, with five of those hits being extra-base hits. This productivity at the plate was pivotal for his team, as he drove in a remarkable nine RBIs and crossed home plate himself six times throughout the week.
Highlights from his phenomenal week include hitting two doubles and a whopping three home runs. In a thrilling victory against Limestone, Molinaroli really showcased his power by hitting a home run and knocking in three RBIs. But that wasn’t the end of his heroics. During a nail-biting series against No. 8 ranked Indiana (Pennsylvania), he opened with a dramatic two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning that tied the game, sending fans into a frenzy!

Molinaroli isn’t just making waves this past week; he tied the school record by achieving five hits in the season-opening game against Mars Hill, leading USC Aiken to a resounding 18-3 victory. To wrap up a phenomenal weekend, his numbers stood at 7-for-14, featuring two home runs, two doubles, seven RBIs, and six runs scored!
