Aiken has just received a delightful addition to its shopping scene with the recent opening of a larger Books-A-Million store in Hitchcock Plaza. After a soft opening on January 30, 2025, book lovers can now shop at this refreshed location, which promises a more spacious and welcoming experience than its predecessor in Kalmia Plaza.
Spanning approximately 11,500 square feet, the new bookstore offers plenty of room for old favorites and new releases. Gone are the days of cramped aisles! This store features not just books but also two inviting seating areas, perfect for those who want to curl up with a good read right on the spot. The display and store fixtures are completely new, creating an exciting atmosphere for shoppers. But what’s on the shelves, you ask? Expect a wide range of products including books, magazines, toys, collectibles, and calendars. Whether you’re a parent looking for fun educational toys or a collector in search of unique items, there’s plenty to discover.
The store is open every day of the week, with operating hours from Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. So whether it’s a weekday evening or a leisurely Sunday, you’ll have plenty of time to stop by and explore everything this new Books-A-Million has to offer.
Located at 243 Fabian Drive, Aiken, the new Books-A-Million is easy to access and shares the building with other popular retailers like pOpshelf and Petco. It’s the perfect spot for a day out shopping, as you can easily pop into multiple stores in one trip.
As Books-A-Million Inc. is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, the company operates over 260 stores across more than 30 states and Washington, D.C. This expansion into Aiken is not just a win for avid readers; it’s also a boost for the local community, providing more shopping options and a gathering space for residents.
