Sponsor Our ArticlesAiken County has become the focus of numerous drug busts resulting in several arrests, including that of Patricio S. Orozco. A six-month investigation led to the seizure of 500 grams of fentanyl and 150 grams of cocaine from Orozco’s stash house. Additional arrests followed, targeting drug distribution in communities like Wagener and Perry. Local law enforcement and federal agencies are committed to tackling drug trafficking in the area, urging residents to remain vigilant. The Sheriff’s Office continues its efforts to ensure a safer environment as investigations unfold.
In a surprising turn of events, the town of Aiken County has found itself in the spotlight due to a series of significant drug busts that have led to numerous arrests. The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, with some heavy-hitting support from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), has been hot on the trail of drug trafficking in the area. Their efforts culminated in the arrest of a 49-year-old man named Patricio S. Orozco, who stands accused of some serious drug-related charges.
Orozco’s arrest wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision; it came after a thorough six-month investigation that crossed state lines, showcasing the joint efforts of local law enforcement and federal authorities. He is now facing multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and even operating a stash house.
But that’s not all! The intense investigation saw its groundbreaking moment when authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on the 600 block of Hampton Circle. What they discovered was shocking: approximately 500 grams of fentanyl and 150 grams of cocaine, alongside a rifle. The sheer volume of drugs seized illustrates the severe problem the area is facing. Given the seriousness of the situation, it’s expected that more charges may come as the investigation continues.
But wait, there’s more! Moving on to January 27, a couple of days later, investigators detained Andrew Sampson (37) and Phillip Michael Ginyard (41) during an ongoing investigation linked to drug trafficking. These two men were not intimidated; they grasped the reality of the charges stacked against them. Sampson faced another round of trouble when authorities executed a second search warrant at 269 Roberts Street E. in Perry.
All three of these men were hit with a raft of charges. They are now facing serious accusations including trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in crack cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute oxycodone and marijuana. Not to mention, just like Orozco, they’re also looking at possession of a weapon during a violent crime and operating a stash house.
The tipping point doesn’t seem to signal the end of drug investigations in Aiken County. In fact, the Sheriff’s Office is keen on reminding locals to keep their eyes peeled and to report any suspicious drug-related activities. Their unwavering commitment to dismantling drug trafficking rings in both urban and rural areas of Aiken County is evident. They’re determined to ensure safer communities for everyone.
As the investigations roll on, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office hopes to continue cracking down on any illicit activities surrounding drugs. The message is clear: authorities are here to protect and serve, bringing a sense of hope as they combat these pressing drug issues head-on.
